My favorite game is Solitaire, to me it is a mindless game that I can play all day long and never get bored of it.

Reality, Christie's definition
Merriam-Webster defines reality as the quality or state of being real. To me, this seems like a very broad definition, one that covers anything imaginable. I define reality as something you can feel, touch, see, hear, and believe in. Reality and faith are synonyms to me. Reality is everyday life, while I am awake I am living a real life. With a real family, real food, real clothes, real technology, and real people. When I sleep is when I dream, when my reality is altered, it is a dream, not reality. I remember as a kid I would pretend that my dreams were reality while my actual life was all a dream. Believing in something and believing it is reality changed my outlook on life. I took more risks and I cared less. I like my dreams because I could also control them and make myself happy no matter what. It is an interesting concept. I think reality is belief in something, it is faith. It is interesting to see how people act differently when they believe something is reality. A good example of that is a mock exam verse a real exam, people freeze up and get nervous during a real test while during a mock exam, they known they have more time to study so they relax. Reality makes us nervous, dreams make us calm. There is a difference. We are afraid of reality, to believe in something.

I was dying to see this movie
"Smurfs" is a name that everyone knows, it conjures up the image of little blue people running through a forest trying to help others while a bad guy is trying to capture them for his enjoyment. The smurfs are known as the good guys. This ad shows Clumsy Smurf with a clever caption "say hello to my little friend." These two bold points on the ad have nothing to do with each other, but they appeal to different audiences creating bigger revenue when people go and see the movie. Adults know that the tag line here is from scarface, a movie not many little kids have seen, this text brings in the logos, which adults associate themselves with and the audience begins to question what that has to do with the Smurfs creating ethos and pathos. Ethos in that the designer of this ad was hoping adults would be wondering what is going on with this movie. Pathos because they have most likely seen the tv show and know the smurfs are typically the good guys trying to rescue others. The picture, logos towards little children, creates a feeling of pathos because they think that smurfs are cute so this movie has to be exciting to watch. The designer knew it would be a little kid movie and they would have to appeal to the adults so they will take the children because they are excited as well.

A New Start
My name is Christina Lee Fyock, but I preferred to go by Christie. I have a little sister name Natalie (left) and a little brother named Neal (right). I am from Ellicott City, Maryland a small suburb outside of Baltimore. I played volleyball and soccer as I was growing up, now to keep in shape I go for long runs. I have kept a job at a small family owned local jewelry store for three years and it is very weird to no longer be there three days out of every week. I am an engineering major because ever since I can remember I have loved math and science so I hope to use that to my advantage for my career. I came to Clemson excited for football to begin and to start the rest of my college life!
